How are you? I remember you. Happy New Year to you and yours. I hope all is well and you are a success in your career. But may I ask, for my own information, how did you find the blog? Thank you for the compliments and for following.

Wow. You could of not said that any better.
TOUCHE my friend, TOUCHE. Being in the customer service industry, we forget listen, but yet quick to give a discount to keep clients/customers. Clients can drop us in a second. Honesty has always worked for me. I have learned by producing relationships with honesty and good listening skills comes loyalty. Let's face it. People get conned all the time, ripped off, and unfortunately people get leery. Producing relationships like would your own friendships, you will gain respect. Respect is what makes everyone happy. That my friend will take you further than you can imagine.

"AOL is still a brand name"

Yes it is, and so is Oldsmobile and Dole --they may have their day again--maybe/maybe not. After all, Abercrombie reinvented itself in the last 90's after being sold.

However, AOL it is a damaged and declining equity. The brand is without a clear target, message or functional reason for being --other than a huge but declining base of users from habit ( including me). I use it for portfolio snapshots and organization and I'm too lazy to shift somewhere else.

Without a major restage ( and spot on execution )either as an independent or with someone else. AOL does not have a bright future.

The competitive set is fierce, creative and more relevant.

Maybe they could appeal to really really old people who are borderline luddites as related to the internet

I have to agree with the last sentence. I being a Mac user I always had great customer service. If I needed something I would either go to the store to find my answers or call up and have someone not reading from a manual. For years I would see my friends and family by Dell computers, and their biggest complaint was their customer service. Maybe they should stop expanding to fail, and work on restructuring their customer service department. Maybe, just maybe then they build a better re pour with consumers, and come across as an edgy, innovative, and delightable company that is affordable.
